Michael Anthony Seersucker Pants

$200.00

Description

Our cotton Michael Anthony Khakis are named after our founder and creative director’s middle brother, Michael Anthony. He is an heir-o’-link (descended of a member of the venerable women’s civic organization, The Links) and also a legacy member of the old-guard children’s leadership institution, Jack and Jill of America. This is the same social club where the daughters of human rights activists Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz are members.

Notably, seersucker was worn by free African Americans during the antebellum era (1812-1861), as documented by The Historic New Orleans Collection. Over a century later, the fabric was adopted by Ivy League students during the 1920s.
