306 Group Capsule

The 306 Group was a collective of African American artists residing in 1930s Harlem. Gathering at Charles Alston’s studio loft at the eponymous 306 West 141st Street, its members included Harlem Renaissance icons, such as Jacob Lawrence, Augusta Savage, and Romare Bearden.

Our ongoing 306 Group capsule features reproduced compositions from these celebrated artists—who depicted themes of history and Black identity—printed on heavyweight cotton tees, handmade in the United States.
